The world-famous Breitling brand was launched in 1884 by Leon Breitling and has early established itself in the world's top watch brands through various chronograph inventions. As early as 1915, the first wristwatch chronograph was developed and Breitling set further milestones in watch history with e.g. the most famous models Chronomat and Navitimer. These two vintage Breitling wristwatches are naturally part of every Breitling wristwatch collection, but the Superocean, Top Time, Sprint, Unitime or Chrono-Matic models are also very popular with Breitling collectors.
For example, in the 1940s calculations were made using the slide rule function of the Breitling Chronomat. In the 1950s, pilots used their Breitling Navitimer to calculate fuel consumption and climb or descent rates.
